Quayfoot buttress is a clean glaciated buttress close to the car park. Quick drying.
Forty to fifty metre routes on excellent rock. A great evening or short day venue. Crypt Direct(E1), Go Between(E2), Mandrake(HVS), Irony(HVS), Aberration(MVS), Quayfoot Buttress(VD).
Wodens Face is a clean face with lower grade routes although some routes are polished in places
Approach notes
Both are a few minutes from the NT Bowderstone car park.

Good evening,
The forecast for Tuesday looks OK, warmer but a little windy (provided the rain moves away as forecast) so this meet will go ahead as scheduled. The venue provides opportunity for everyone with Wodens Face better for lower grades, Quayfoot best for classic HVS’s and of course Bowderstone Crag if you like your “E” numbers.The different crags are very spread out so I would appreciate communication if you intend to go
I will be leaving Cockermouth about 3 o’clock, lift share available for anyone who wants it, just let me know

A beautiful warm and sunny evening tempted a handful of KMC members to Tuesday rescheduled meet at Quayfoot and Wodens Face where the team split into two groups. The Quayfoot group making a bold ascent of Go Between (E2), Mandrake and Irony (HVS) whilst the Wodens party tackled pretty much all of the routes at the crag from VD to VS. All in all the evening provided for much satisfying climbing and was followed by the traditional refreshment in the Borrowdale Hotel. Thanks to Mark M, Pete W, Mike W, Scott H, Jane L and Matt Au for joining me and helping to make for another fantastic night on the rock
