Large serious mountain crag up to 100m high. Best routes are Newlands Gully (S), Miners Grooves (VS), Ropewalk (MVS), Newlands Buttress (S), Double Slab (VD), Jezebel (VS), Harlot (HVS), Bathsheba (E1), and Corkscrew (HS).
Approach notes
Best approached from summit of Honister Pass (50mins). A longer approach is via the Newlands Valley (1hr 30mins).

Morning All,
I have been watching the forecast for Honister and Dale head. It has improved to the extent that rain is no longer forecast but but forecasts show strong winds, cool temperature and “fog” which I take to mean low cloud. Thursday forecast is significantly better than this so I am moving this meet to Thursday evening instead, I will confirm and send out further information on WednesdayCheers

Tuesdays postponed meet Miners Crag is confirmed for Thursday evening. The forecast is dry if a little windy and cool for the time of year so bring some layers. If you intend to go please let me know either directly to my email markward1962@gmail.com or via the KMC Whats App group.
I will be leaving cockermouth about 2:30, anyone wishing to car share from Cockermouth area please contact me as above and we will sort something out
There is Parking at the Honister Hause Youth Hostel (National Trust) or alternatively at the Honister Slate Mine, none of it free unfortunately.
There are only 7 weeks of Tuesday meets left so I look forward to seeing another good turnout

With the meet rescheduled to Thursday Ros, Mark and Jon met in the Honister youth hostel car park and walked in. The weather was as per forecast dry windy and cool which made the walk in a bit more pleasant than usual. Geriant made his own way to the crag and the team managed to complete Corkscrew, Double Slabs and a new route Medea (S 4b) which turned out to be a very good route.
The walk out back to Honister was completed in darkness so the traditional halt at the pub was dropped
A pleasant evenings climbing if a little cold in the wind
