Tuesdays meet is at High crag Buttermere. North East facing crag with climbs which are mainly 2/3 pitches each and “some of the most enjoyable routes in the valley”. I can’t say much more about it, as this will be my first trip up there! Forecast is a little dubious, so I’ll review weather tomorrow/Tuesday Morning.

Parking is at Garth Farm at the end of Buttermere valley. Approach is to follow the path from Garth Farm across the valley and up towards Scarth Gap until you get to a gate. Then take the left side of a fence on the right, directly up to the crag.

    Hopefully see you then
    Mark M.

Tuesdays meet is at High Crag, Buttermere. Fine crag with mainly 2/3 pitch climbs of good quality “some of the most enjoyable routes in the valley”. I have not been there before so cannot say much else! The weather has turned a little and the forecast for Tuesday is a bit dubious at present, so I will confirm later.

Parking is at Gates Garth Farm. From there take the footpath across the valley and up towards Scarth Gap and to a gate. Take the left side of a fence directly up to the crag. Approach is about 45mins. I intend to get to the crag at around 4pm.

    Hope to see you there

I don’t think High Crag will be particularly fast to dry and with heavy rain forecast in morning and early afternoon and showers (or even thunder storms on one forecast!) potentially continuing into late PM I am postponing this meet until Thursday when the weather forecast is much better.

Again I will be intending to be at the crag from around 4pm.

Any queries please whatsapp me of email markamegan@gmail.com

I think this crag will be relatively slow to dry, and with heavy rain in morning and early afternoon and showers potentially continuing into late afternoon/evening I am postponing this meet until Thursday, when the weather is much better and forecast are more consistent.

We finally got up to High Crag on Thursday PM, and the conditions were perfect. Samson and Delilah made a lovely couple and there was some playing around with Ludo. A late leave from the crag (blame the slow leader) left no time for a pub trip – but a very enjoyable outing non-the less.

It was just a small group of Pete, Judith, Jane, Mike and Mark M.
