Hi all,
So another day of perfect weather and crag conditions has been booked for Tuesday 6th June. If you are wilting in the heat, then west facing Raven Crag (Combe Gill, opposite Dove’s Nest Crag) will be a shady escape, once you’ve completed the 45 minute walk in.
Plenty to do in the Diff to VS range including the classic Corvus which I recommend if you haven’t already done it.
Approach
Climb into Combe Gill but stay on the right hand side of the beck. The crag is the obvious clean outcrop of rock just to the right of the head of the combe. 45 mins from the road. Parking is on the RHS of the access road to Thorneythwaite Farm. Access to the parking area (NY256140 (ish) is just before you reach the Mountain View cottages, coming from Keswick.Pub afterwards: Scafell, Rosthwaite, according to the KMC website.

Another well-attended Tuesday meet. Conditions were perfect for climbing in the shade and we covered the crag.
There was a mix of regulars and new faces including Craig, Simon, Tina, Kevin, Scott, Johnny, Jamie, Matt A, Jane, Jonathan C, Mike W, and a couple more (sorry guys, sack the meet leader for not having all names and faces fixed yet).
Routes climbed included Corvus, Corax, Raven Crag Buttress, Pedestal Wall, and I think Crystal Slab and Midge Ridge.
The usual parties were held on the stances of Corvus. Everyone got down before dark, but not everyone made it for last orders.
