Goats Crag is in an idyllic setting, with splendid views and on quick drying rock. Gets plenty of sun.

Up to 15m high. Plenty of good short routes from D to E4. The best of which are; Mort (E1), Pussy Galore (E2), Optional Omission (E1), Inner Limits (HVS), Emma Line (HVS), Mackanory (E1)

Approach
20 min steep approach from the Watendlath road, through a field then directly up the fellside.

After a stunning day on Saturday. Tuesday evening looks fine weather wise at the moment. So Goats Crag is up the Watendlath road nearly as far as the national trust car park. There is enough parking for up to 4 well parked cars just on the right of the road opposite two gates. I will aim to be there for 4 and head up to the crag. If anyone needs any info or directions please email me on jtrotman57@gmail.com.

It’s starting to rain here in Keswick just now and the forecast is saying heavy showers on and off till about 5. So I think it’s better to shift the meet to Thursday and see how it goes. Please let me know if you will hopefully go on Thursday as sometimes not many turn up!

After the meet was postponed on Tuesday due to rainy forecast we definitely had a better night. Not such a high turnout as late, with just four of us there myself, Mike W, Scott and Pete. Routes included The Green, The Slab, Son of Oz, Everybody’s Dream, Mort, Emma Line, Munich Agreement (which proved a tough last pull) Route 9 and Scoopy Death! For just two teams that’s quite a few routes, we all thoroughly enjoyed the evening and ended up in the Dog and Gun for a pint. Cheers!
