Home to the deservedly popular Troutdale Pinnacle (S). Other classics include The Shroud (VS), The Mortician (HVS), Troutdale Pinnacle Super-direct (HVS), Raindrop (E1), Prana (E3) and Grand Alliance (E4).
Approach
Twenty minute walk from parking in laybys just south of the Leathes Head Hotel.

Forecast for Tuesday is good, small possibility of a sprinkle (as the Aussies say) but the crag dries very quickly so this meet is on.

The weather was perfect and, amazingly, the crag, which is often crowded, was deserted except for one rope topping out when we arrived. Mike Korner, Steve Pollington, Mark Ward and Jonathan Coles, between them, did Troutdale Ridge and two ascents of the Pinnacle. Five other KMC members had expressed interest: perhaps they were put off by the stream of traffic on the Borrowdale road. In fact, the four attendees found plenty of room to park in the Bowderstone car park and then took the delightful, but rather long, path under Long Crag.
