Armathwaite Crag, Eden Valley Meet

A warm evening in the sun, on the crag by the river. We were joined by Richard, Dave, Bob, new prospective member Johnny, Matt and Ian for a fun session on sandstone.

Routes ticked off included King Fisher, Glenwillie Grooves, The Bullgine Run (variation finish), Zephyr, Cat Wall, Flasherman, Flasherman Direct (Matt’s first HVS lead) and most of us top roped the spectacular Erection (E1) – it was quite hard; a stiff little number that made your arms ache.

We had a good time and a good pint afterwards. Armathwaite did seem a popular choice for a meet.
