The outing on Saturday is a walk up the NW face of Grasmoor (note: not the Lorton Gully scramble). It is sometime called “fat man’s agony” after an obscure reference by Wainwright. Mark Richards calls it “thrilling”! We start at the Lanthwaite Green car park (NY158207, no charge), 9am. Then it’s directly up to Grasmoor End, traverse the summit over to Coledale hause, Sand Hill, Hopegill Head and along the fine ridge to descend via Whiteside.
Pub is the Kirkstile. If you’d like to go please let me know either at richard_easton@hotmail.com or 07775 811358.
If the forecast on Thursday evening looks hopeless I’ll cancel.
Happy New Year.
Richard
