Thursday 23rd March: Alan Hinkes – From Lakeland Climbing to Challenge 8000m

Alan was the first, and so far only, Briton to climb all 14 of the world’s 8000m mountains, an extraordinary achievement.

As a Yorkshireman, Alan’s talk is humorous, inspiring and entertaining, illustrated with stunning photos and video clips. It covers his passion for mountaineering and the hills of Britain, rock climbing, fell-walking and ice climbing, as well as potholing and caving.

Venue: The Greta Suite of the Skiddaw Hotel, Main Street, Keswick, CA12 5BL.

Lectures are free to members. Non-members are welcome to attend for a suggested £3 donation to the Montane Alpine Club Climbing Fund.

    Doors Open: 7pm.
    Lecture Starts: 7.30pm.

Food is available before the lecture from the hotel bar.
