Forecast is good so this meet is ON. The combination of the Climbers Traverse, grade 1, with Sphinx Ridge, grade 2, and Pinnacle Ridge on Westmorland’s Crag, grade 2, finishing on the summit of Great Gable, makes an excellent mountaineering day.
Meet at Seathwaite at 9.30. Rendezvous at the turning circle at the end of the road near the farm buildings. There is informal parking all along the road but take great care not to block access for the farmer or emergency vehicles. There is alternative parking at the NT car park at Seatoller though this adds quite a bit of extra walking.
I can offer a lift from Cockermouth, with a pick-up at Keswick en route, to anyone who wants to risk car sharing – a negative lateral flow test required, though our recent experience is that is not a guarantee that you are COVID-free!
