Afternoon Folks,
The Christmas KMC meet is scheduled for next Saturday 16th December.
The plan is to meet in King George V playing field carpark in Patterdale at 9:30am. Please bring £5 for the car park honesty box. The route we’ll be taking is into Grisedale and then up onto Striding Edge via the Hole-in-the-Wall. Once we’ve enjoyed the view on the summit (fingers crossed), we’ll descend via Swirral Edge onto Birkhouse Moor and The Nab to take us back into Patterdale.
As I’m sure you’re all aware, the mountains were in full winter conditions but this wet and mild weather we’ve currently got has stripping the white stuff away. Regardless, it might be a good idea to dig out your winter toys, (helmet, axe, crampons) as it might entice the snow to return.
I plan to provide an update on Thursday 14th December via WhatsApp if there are any changes.
Please let me know if you intend coming via a personal WhatsApp, so I can make sure I bring enough mince pies!
We can agree which pub to visit afterwards for a festive tipple.
