Current forecast for Saturday is dry, cold and mainly cloudy, so basically OK for a lowish level amble and easy scramble. Unless there is an adverse change in the forecast this meet is ON.
We will set off from the Old Dungeon Ghyll car park in Greater Langdale (National Trust) at 9.30. However, parking there is fairly limited, so you may find it easier to park at the bigger NT car park near the New Dungeon Ghyll and walk along the path to the ODG. Allow an extra 15 to 20 minutes.
The walk will take us up to Bleatarn House (short section along road), then up onto Lingmoor Fell and onto Side Pike via the ‘secret door’. The short ascent of Side Pike can be made either via a very easy scramble or on the path.
I can offer a lift from the business park in Cockermouth at 8 am.
