NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE!!! Stickle Barn, Langdale 10 am
With an unsettled weather forecast this has been a difficult one to call, after consulting the Met Office, MWIS and the BBC weather, and trawling through both volumes of Evans, the best chance of getting a scramble done on Saturday seems to be Langdale. There are lowish level options which can be combined if the rain holds off and the mist clears! These could include the grade 1 lower sections of either Dungeon Ghyll (mainly a walk), leading to a grade 1 or 2 on Thorn Crag/ or lower section of Stickle Gill, leading to a choice of routes on Tarn Crag. Alternatively, if weather and visibility is better than predicted by MetOffice longer expeditions are options from the valley.

I suggest meeting at the Stickle Barn Car Park (National Trust) at 10 am (when the morning mist is forecast to lift.) From there we can inspect conditions and plan accordingly. Car share available for Cockermouth folk – meet at Cockermouth Lakes Business Park (wigwams) at 9am. Pick up near Keswick by arrangement.

Be prepared for potentially damp conditions, and carry micro-spikes in case of frost/ice on paths.
