To escape the heat of the lakes, 4 of us headed over to an equally sweltering south facing limestone sport crag near Clapham. Conditions turned out to be fine with the wind helping to maintain a manageable temperature. The empty car park was an early indication of what was to come and after a short walk-in we found a deserted crag, which we had to ourselves all day. Good rock and bolts lead to ambitious climbing, celebrated afterwards in the Old Manor House. Thanks to Álvaro, Adam and Mark for the good company. Climbs done included Knocking on Heaven’s Door, Inertia Syndrome Revisited, Wheels On Fire, The Shield, Tombstone Blues, Subterranean Homesick Blues, The Modern Prometheus, Dr Frank(enstein)’s Nightmare, Interloper, Yellow Edge, Marshall Plan and The Man Who Fell To Earth. Not a bad haul. Andy
