This coming Tuesday’s meet on the 21st July is at Raven Crag, Langdale. A majestic group of buttresses offering a wide range of excellent multi-pitch climbs from Diff-E8 on fast drying rock. Care should be taken with rock in the area of Oak Tree Wall+Holly Tree Traverse, though this is now thought be relatively settled. Due diligence should also be applied in descents, especially in the vicinity of Revelation, with a fixed abseil point above Bluebell Gully probably now providing the best way to ab down from the right-hand side of the main crag.
The forecast for Tuesday is currently looking to be fine with temperatures of around 20C. Confirmation of the meet will be made early tomorrow evening.
A NT pay and display beside the Old Dungeon Ghyll(NY286061) provides the ideal parking, with a 10-15 minute approach to the crag. The NT car park at Stickle Barn provides an alternative.
The pub for after beverages will be the splendid Old dungeon Ghyll.
I plan to be at the crag for 15.30.
Please let me know by WhatsApp/text(07899622980) if you plan to attend.
