This weekend (Sat 24 Aug) the KMC meet schedule promises climbing in the Duddon Valley. The plan is to climb at Crag Band (https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crags/crag_band-3149/, FRCC Duddon and Wrynose Guidebook p 117). It’s a large sprawling venue, in a gorgeous spot, with mostly, but not exclusively, single pitch climbing at a wide range of grades. It’s also, importantly, relatively quick drying.
Parking: Meet at Fickle Steps parking at 0930. (SD230974; w3w: sprinting.following.modest). The walk to the crag is about 40 minutes and can be wet.
Weather: The weather is really changeable at the moment and the forecast for Saturday is for showers and wind, but with low certainty. We’ll circulate a final decision on Friday afternoon as to whether the meet will go ahead.
