After snatching the last “spaces” in the car park (earlier meet time next year?) eleven of us “enjoyed” a sun-kissed walk up to a dry but windy Dow Crag. Later the sun disappeared for periods, it grew colder and there were drops of drizzle in the air. Despite the wind gusts, there were ascents of ‘C’ Ordinary, Murray’s Route (including one twilight ascent), Murray’s Direct and Eliminate A – plus the now annual inspection of Hopkinson’s Crack: now even mossier. Refreshments were taken at The Sun in Coniston. Thanks to Mike, Gee, Luke, Amy, Pete, Darran, Geraint, Sam, Jonathan C (etymologist) and Kath for a great day out.
