First Meet of the Year! And what a great day we had for it – unbroken sunshine, fab views, dry rock and excellent company.
We chose to start the 2021 meets programme with an old favourite route, Cam Crag Ridge, because is a very good route and also sociable. With a turn-out of 15 people, it was one of the best attended meets for years. Let’s keep up the enthusiasm!
The team was a lively mix of old hands (we know who we are), and folk who have joined more recently, including 2 completely new members.
We divided into two groups for the scramble, with the A team taking the more direct approach, while the rest of us knocked off the lockdown rust on slightly more forgiving options.
At the end of the scramble, 3 members headed back down, one headed off for a solo mega-walk, and the rest of us ambled up Glaramara. There was a lot of chat and it wasn’t all about COVID, for a change. We all had plenty of catching up to do with each other.
The only down-side was not being able to have a large, jolly gathering in a pub afterwards. But one day….soon……
The team was Andrew, Celia, Brendan, Jamie, Fiona, Carol, Mark W, Geraint, Dave B, Rowan, Johnny, Steve P, Judith, and new members Roland Jackson and Michael Turner. We were seen of by honorary member Claire and Poppy the puppy.
A big thank you to everyone who came and helped to launch the 2021 season so enjoyably.
