Shepherd’s Crag is a crag in Borrowdale, Cumbria that provides superb rock climbing at every grade on cliffs up to about 50m high. It is a very popular crag, mainly due to its easy access, though many of the routes are of great quality, e.g. Brown Slab Routes(D-VS), Little Chamonix(VD), Ardus(MVS), Derision Groove(MVS), Adam and Eve(VS), Fishers Folly(VS), Kransic Crack(HVS), Finale(HVS), Aaros(E1), Grasp(E1), Bludgeon(E1).

Note The UKC website states that parking is no longer available at High Lodore Farm

It’s the last official KMC outdoor Tuesday meet of the year (but hopefully the weather will be kind and we’ll get a few more days on the crags one way or another).

I’m aiming to get to the crag at 4pm, got a few spaces to car share from Keswick if anyone needs a lift. Lift shares going from Cockermouth etc, coordinated via the WhatsApp group…

If you’re new to the club, just turn up in the Brown Slabs area, there are sure to be a group of us there, and others spread along the crag.

Any questions, or to join a car share, just message the WhatsApp general chat (or email tinaholt2004@yahoo.co.uk but WhatsApp is faster..)

If you’re new to Shepherds, there’s a full range of grades from Diff to “far too hard to bother with” .

Pub after – Dog and Gun in Keswick

Doing the dry weather dance, and hope to see lots of you there.

    Tina

Well the final outdoor Tuesday meet of the year did not disappoint.

The usual people climbed the usual climbs. It was good to see new faces and the return of some not so new ones.

Highlights included The Great Sock Hunt and ascents of most of Brown Slabs, Kransic Crack, Ardus, Eve (exciting choice of first VS) and others.

We can’t conclude without mentioning Conclusion, for the heroic team effort placing the gear, leading the route and following up it.

See you at Kong soon, to start the serious training for next summer…..

    Tina
