These fine slabs are slightly below and to the right of Sergeant Crag. They are home to some of the best slab pitches in the Lakes !! Of note are Lakeland Cragsman (HVS) and Aphasia (E2).
Approach notes
Descent from the crag has been subject to a lot of debate over the last few years. Park at Stonethwaite. Walk up the valley on a road and then a track past a campsite, then turn right up the Langstrath Valley. After 200m, cross the river (at a footbridge). Walk up the left bank of the river (facing upstream) and after 1 mile, at a striking rock tower, locate a steep path that heads uphill to the crag (50 mins).

Weather forecast is a little unsettled this week… I plan to go ahead with the meet on Tuesday. I will aim to be at Stonethwaite at around 3pm and assuming i am not alone I will venture up to the crag until it either rains or gets dark. If it transpires Tuesday doesn’t work out I will likely try again on Thursday.
The crag has high quality single pitch routes in the VS to E2 grade range. The rock is superb and a lot more amenable than the grades suggest if you are not on the sharp end.
