Good selection of short (20-25m) mainly single pitch middle grade routes. There is loose rock on routes, but manageable. Dries quite quickly in summer. Harder routes are quite bold. Don’t miss Route 2(HS), Tritus/Protus(HVS).
Good evening crag – close to Wainwrights Inn!!

Parking directly below the crag. 5 minute steady uphill approach.

Good Morning all,
Tuesday forecast looks ok for this week so this meet will go ahead as per schedule. This is a good crag for an evening meet although there isnt much parking immediately below the crag. If you cant get parked off the road below the crag the next best place is on the main road down towards the brittania pub. The crag boast a good selection of mid grade fun but only one route below HS. However the climbing is good for anyone seconding.I will be leaving Cockermouth about 2:30 to be on the crag by 4, if you would like to car share please let me know e mail markward1962@gmail.com or phone/WhatsApp 07500155064

The weather gods were unusually kind on Tuesday providing warm sunshine, light winds and no rain. KMC members Judith, Tina, Robyn, Mark M, Pete W, Stuart K, Josh, Johnnie, Mike W, Andy and Craig joined me on a relatively dry crag for a lovely evenings climbing. As well as the usual Route 1, Route 2, Enterprize the more adventurous members tackled Militant Tendancy and Proportional Representation. Having been benighted on his last outing the meet leader ensured that everyone left the crag well before sunset and relocated to the Wainwrights pub for well earned refreshment. Another pleasant evenings climbing in very good company, lets hope the weather stays settled for the final few weeks of the season.
