A selection of short and long (three pitch) routes on six different buttresses along the hillside above the Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel. Good selection at all grades. Quick drying. Best routes – Middlefell Buttress(D), Original Route(S), Pluto(HVS), Trilogy(E5), Dawes Rides a Shovelhead(E8), Centrefold(E6), R ‘n’ S Special(E5), Bilberry Buttress(VS), Revelation(HS). Park in the car park at the Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel Crags are 10 – 15 min. walk up behind the pub.

This Tuesday or Thursday we will try and get to Raven Crag, Langdale. At the moment the weather isn’t playing ball but we will make a decision on Monday evening as to whether it’s likely to be dry enough. Fingers crossed. It’s a great crag with lots for everyone to have a go at. I will aim to get there at 4pm or a bit earlier if we’re on. The forecast for tomorrow is very varied according to where you look. The met office is saying the last rain could be around 11.00 then good, the bbc says rain all day? At the moment I’m tempted to say let’s go for it as Thursday is looking questionable as well and I can’t do both. I will check again in the morning but assuming everything is similar I shall leave keswick about 3. The weather was good and everyone who came managed to get some climbing in. People attending included Richard, Judith, David A, David W, Jane, Josh, Pete, Stuart K , Ros, Stephen and Cath P. Routes done included. Revelation, Elevation, Savernake, Holly Tree Direct, Evening Wall, Mendez and Middle Fell Buttress. Followed by a pint at the ODG.
