    Good morning all,
Forecast for Tuesday is is prolonged showers with with spells of heavy rain in between so Tuesdays meet is not going to happen. There is still hope for Thursday depending on which forecast you read so I am postponing this meet to Thursday, I will review this on Wednesday and provide an update

Good afternoon all, the weather forecast for tomorrow (Thursday) looks good so the Gillercombe meet is on. I plan to leave Greysouthen/Cockermouth about 2:30 which should put me in the Honister Youth Hostel car park (national Trust) about 3 and walk in from there. If you prefer you can park in the Honister slate mine car park and walk over. If you would like to lift share or you are planning to meet me in the car park please let me know so that I can wait for you, reply via WhatsApp or email to markward1962@gmail.com
    Cheers

With a moderate but dry forecast the postponed Gillercombe meet took place on Thursday evening. Gillercombe butress and Grey Knotts face were tackled by the 8 KMC members who made the meet. Steve and Cath tackled Grey knotts face including the letter box, however when Steve posted himself in he was quicly ejected with “return to sender ” stamped on his forehead, the severe external option provided a more friendly bypass route to allow the route to be completed. The rest of us opted for Gillercombe buttress which is one of the best routes at its grade in the lakes and was no less enjoyable last night. Team 2 on gillercombe had a couple of minor route finding difficulties which allowed us to introduce the 2 new members to the annual KMC tradition of benightment, arriving back at the cars at 11. At least we have put that behind us for another year!. Thanks to Kath and Steve Price, Josh, Craig Scott and new members Ellen and Mick in joining me to make another great evenings climbing.

    Cheers
