Sadly I won’t be able to attend this meet (would have liked to as I’ve never climbed here), as I’m away for a few days. Stuart

    Helm Crag – Meet Report
That was an interesting afternoon/evening with lots of us managing to find parking and the not too frequented crag. There are some good climbs and quite a lot of loose rock and moss with most routes seeming quite high in the grade. Members present were, Phil, John M, myself, Judith, Mark, Bob, Matt, Ian N, Gavin, Jonny, Piers and Haresh. Climbs completed were Ion, Skyglow, Secret no more, Beacon Crack, Holly Tree Crack (going into Flarepath due to wet rock!) Bentley and Pathfinder. After a very hot evenings climbing we made our way back to the Lancrigg Hotel for a drink and chat. Some of the words used to describe the crag included ‘esoteric’ (Judith) ‘climby’ (Ian) and ‘sliding scale’? (Matt) you can tell which one went to Oxford!

The forecast is looking good at the moment for Tuesday so will assume the meet is on. I will be there from 4pm. Parking is an issue for the crag as there is no obvious car park after the village. There might be some spaces by the youth hostel? From the village you follow the road up Easdale, once you get to the end of the road it is a little way up on the right. See you there. Jon
