Good selection of quality easier routes up to 40m long on several buttresses which link well together to give a good days climbing. Best routes are Mitre Buttress Direct(VD), Harrow Buttress(D), Slabs West(HS), Suaviter(S), Oxford and Cambridge Direct(MS), Dexter Wall(VS).
One and a half hour uphill walk from Gatesgarth Farm. Farmer charges £4 to park but there are other places nearby. Or walk from Buttermere, takes about 15

Hi to all,
The KMC Climbing meet this Saturday at Grey Crag Buttermere is on. The weather looks great all day. We will meet at Gatesgarth farm at 0915 hrs.
This is a pay and display car park.
Grey Crag is a fantastic climbing area with lots of classic routes.

Hello to all,
Well the weather, and the Mountain’s were on our side. What a fantastic day’s Climbing we all had
On Grey Crag down Buttermere. We meet at Gatesgarth farm at 0915hrs and departed by 0930hrs. It was wall to wall sunshine, and Blue sky’s all day.
At the foot of Harrow Buttress, we paired up and sorted out ropes, gear etc and went all directions to our first Climbs. To name but a few – Harrow Buttress, Chockstone Ridge, Oxford and Cambridge Direct, Mitre Buttress Direct, Return with a vengeance, Slabs Ordinary Route, Rib and Wall, Mitre Mouse and a Climb behind the piler on Dexter wall, Yorky?Jonathon C, Ros, Ann S, Mark W, Andy B, Steve D, Jane, Jon T, Mike K, Geraint, Steve and Kath P, Stu G, Jonney H, Josh, Tina, Stuart K, Oli, Jamie, and Brendan.
I hope this is the start of a good Craging session.
