Marked on the OS map as Buckstone Howes, this cluster of small cliffs is the first climbable rock on the left when ascending Honister Pass from Gatesgarth.
Yew Crags includes Yew Crag Buttress, Lower Buttress, Yew Crag Knotts, Zorro Buttress and Maidenstone Buttress. The climbs stretch from a wandering 150m to 15m high. Recommended E graders: Vulture(E3), Substitute(E1)and Hearth Direct(E1).
Yew Crag Knotts (NY219145) lies about 200 metres right of Yew Crag Gully and contains most of the better routes on Yew Crags.
The Crags are a 20 min walk uphill from the road.
