For the last 8 years Mark Ward has done a great job of organising our Summer and Winter Meets schedules. Following this lengthy service, Mark has decided to stand down at the end of 2025.
The Club Meets are the backbone of our club and provide all members with a structured programme of events throughout the year.
We are very grateful to Mark for his contribution over the last 8 years and we now are looking to replace him from 2026 onwards. Mark has already promised to work with his replacement by way of handing over the job.
The Meets Secretary has to prepare and publicise our meets on an annual basis, and recruit meet leaders for each event. So a good knowledge of the local crags, some basic IT skills and time to prepare the meets schedule are required. Steve Price (as webmaster) is happy to assist with, and streamline, some of the IT aspects of the job. The new Meets Secretary will also be a committee member and attend meetings 2 or 3 times a year. It would also be appreciated if the new Meets Secretary could provide the same level of superb weather that Mark has arranged for us so far in 2025.
Over the last 4 years the KMC has doubled in size and now has a very active membership, both male and female, with a broad range of ages and climbing abilities. So, if there are a number of people interested in the position, it may be that we take on 2 people to fill the vacancy with a Summer Meets Secretary and a Winter Meets Secretary.
