Winter Walk: Melbreak and Hen Combe:

The weather forecast for Saturday is good, so the ‘Winter Walk’ is on. Parking is either at Maggie’s Bridge NY 135210 which is National Trust (or there are also a few free spots by the phone box at NY143211). Meet at 9.00 outside the Kirkstile Inn NY141209. We’ll head up the screes onto Melbreak along the top and then down to Scale Force, then a boggy walk up the valley, up the southern end of Hen Comb and Loweswater Fell, and retrace our earlier steps to retire to The Kirkstile.
