    Morning all,
The fabulous spring weather is forecast to continue into next week so this meet will go ahead. I will be leaving the Cockermouth area circa 08:30 aiming to arrive at High Wallowbarrow farm by 09:30.

A personal favourite of mine, the climbing at this crag is mostly low and intermediate grades making it an excellent early season choice to blow away the winter cobwebs. The crag catches the sun from late morning onwards so, after a cool start, we should get a pleasant days climbing.

Parking at the farm is limited, and with a good forecast the area will be busy on Saturday, so I would encourage car sharing to minimise the numbers of cars we need to park. Depending on who is going we usually have car shares from Cockermouth and from Keswick/Penrith side, they are best organised through WhatsApp. There is an honesty box to pay for your days parking.

Hope to see you on Saturday
    Cheers
    Mark

Well the morning dawned cool with clear sky and little wind, 13 members plus guest Andy together and Dave the dog gathered at Wallowbarrow Crag in the Duddon anticipating a pleasant days climbing. All of the usual routes (and some of the less climbed routes) received the attention this crag rightly deserves, the dry grippy rock, awash with gear placements and the sun on our backs provided for a fantastic days climbing and fun day out.

From the left routes inluded, Malediction Direct, Thomas, Nameless, Digitation, Agitation, Wall and Corner, Trinity Slabs, Sharks Fin, Sharks Fin Scoop, Paradice, Men of the Plough, The Furrow and Ploughmans lunch.

With me were Craig, Judith, Luke, Newbie Clare, Guest Andy, Ed, Jane, Mick, Aileen, Nick, Geriant, Ros and Andy B.

I hope I’ve remember everyone and all of thier conquests

Refreshments were taken at the Newfield Inn before we all journeyed homewards

Thanks to everyone who joined me in making another memorable day on the rock

The bar is set high, lets hope the season continues like yesterday

    Cheers
    Mark
