Otherwise; Meeting Point: 11 a.m. at Gosforth free carpark, near the lavatories.
(Late because Pikes Crag faces West, and we can descend after the crowds have left. Gosforth so that we can have a minimum number of cars going up the valley, and keep together looking for a parking place.)
Mark and Brendon were already high on Grooved Arete when Judith, Andrew, Ian and Jonathan arrived after civilised Saturday breakfasts. Everybody climbed Grooved Arete and at least one of Juniper Buttress and Wall and Crack Climb; I am not entirely sure what Mark and Brendan were abseiling down from in the photo. The weather was good to start with and got progressively better, the rock was bone dry, and even Central Buttress came into full sunlight. At 10 p.m., the path up Brown Tongue was busier than ever with streams of three peak challengers and we agreed that tourism in the Lakes is already more than adequately promoted.
