Long routes of all grades on superb rock in a fantastic position. One of the best crags in the Lakes. Classics – Gimmer Chimney(VD), Bracket and Slab(MVS), A,B,C and D Routes(S), Oliversons(VD), Spring Bank(E2), Whits End Direct(E1), F Route(VS), Eastern Hammer(E3), Equus(E2), Kipling Groove(HVS), Ash Tree Slabs(VD), Intern(E1), NW Arete(VS), Asterisk(MVS), Gimmer String(E1), The Crack(VS), Dight(E1), Grand Finale(E1).

From Stickle Barn NT car park take the main Dungeon Ghyll from the North end of the car park. Cross the gill after 500m and then continue for another 1km until you emerge on to an open plateau. Head west and when the path starts to rise again take a faint left track at a large cairn, the crag comes into view.

    Good evening all,
    Well this Saturday we will be climbing on on the fantastic Mountain Crag Of
    Gimmer in Great Langdale. The weather looks great all day at the moment. If there are any changes, I will update you on
    We will meet at the National Trust, Stickle Barn car park in Great Langdale at 0830hrs.

    Well what can I say, apart from a fabulous day on the crag.
    We met up at the Stickler Barn NT car park at 0830, group one
    Lead by me self set off for the crag. Group two Met by Mark Ward
    Set off just after 0915.
    The sun was shining, and there was a slight wind blowing, but that was fine.
    When at the base of the crag we got sorted out gear, and ropes to start the days
    craging .
    Climbs done, to name but a few were – Asterisk, Ash Tree Slabs, The Purple Edge, Main Wall,
    Glimmer Chimney, Bracket and Slab, and a number of climbs from ABC wall.

    Attendees were, Brendan, Jamie, Mark W, Andy B, Ros, Geraint, Tina, Andrew, Dan, Phil, Ann, Pete, Jane and Stu Gorman.

    What a fantastic day we all had, and some of us finished off the day with a pint at the local pub.
