Hi All. This Saturday is the Dow Crag meet. At the moment the weather is looking ok but we will check again nearer the weekend. I will aim to get to the Wallna Sca car park for 10am so leaving keswick just before 9. The car park is now a paid one so cat sharing would be a good idea, I think it’s about £8 a car. There are lots of good routes on the crag including a few great multi pitch D/Vdiffs some good severes including Murray’s route and VS’s like Eliminate ‘A’ with lots more above and between. Let me know if you’re going and want to share lifts. I’ll be leaving from Keswick so can meet people in Keswick or on route down. Fingers crossed for the weather. 11 of us made it to Dow on a warm and dry late summer meet. Lots of great routes were climbed. 2 groups did Eliminate A a group of 3 did Giants Crawl another 2 teams climbed Gordon and Craig’s and one group did C ordinary. Then after the initial climbs a few of us thought we had time for another route so tried to complete Murray’s direct and Woodhouse’s Route with various levels of success. Myself and Judith attempted Woodhouse’s which was a very ‘traditional’ route with lots of thrutching and awkwardness on the first 2 proper pitches. Then we came to an impasse as the next pitch was very slimy and not possible so we made the decision to ab out which took a while with ropes getting stuck and other abbing issues! Eventually we got down and managed to catch Kath and Steve in the Sun Inn for a quick pint and chat. It sounds like everyone had a good day. Members out included. Jonny, Tina, Mark M, Andy B, Geraint, Jane, Judith, Kath and Steve and myself. ????
