Park in the carpark at the top of the tarmaced section of the Walna Scar road – it’s no longer permissible to drive any further.

This Saturday is the Dow Crag (check your pronunciation!) meet. At the moment, remarkably for 2024, the weather is looking ok and so the meet is on. We’ll keep an eye on the weather, and post if anything untoward looks like occurring. We will aim to leave the Walna Scar car park (above Coniston; w3w: scanty.braved.grades; SD 28883 97003) at 0930 for the 60+ minute walk in. We’ll aim for the stretcher box at the foot of the crag. The car park is pay and display (?£9) There are lots of good routes on the crag including a few great multi pitch D/VDiffs some good Severes including Murray’s Route and VS’s like Eliminate ‘A’ with lots more above and between.
