Crag Lough Northumberland

This Saturday is the club’s planned meet to Crag Lough in Northumberland, directly under Hadrian’s wall. Offering fantastically fun, lower grade climbs with good protection. Though grades can feel stiff for those more used to the style of climbing in the Lakes. Harder climbing can be found on the neighbouring but less frequented Peel Crag.

The crag is high, North facing, with routes often following crack lines – therefore particularly weather sensitive. Current forecasts are a little tentative, so I’ll keep an eye on how the weather develops over the week and make a decision to go/no go later in the week.

I’ll be heading up from Cockermouth to the parking at Steel Rigg carpark (paid). and short walk from Hadrian’s wall, with space for 3 to car share. Please let me know if you’re intending to come along.
