Classic Borrowdale climbing! Two main buttresses, North buttress on the left and South buttress on the right.
Home to the deservedly popular Troutdale Pinnacle (S). Other classics include The Shroud (VS), The Mortician (HVS), Troutdale Pinnacle Superdirect (HVS), Raindrop (E1), Prana (E3) and Grand Alliance (E4).
A twenty minute walk from parking in laybys just south of the Leathes Head Hotel. Alternatively Park in the Bowderstone NT car park and take the path at the left hand side back to Black Crag

The meet for this Tuesday is Black Crag, Borrowdale. As usual the weather isn’t looking too promising so I will check again tomorrow evening to see if it will be good enough to get climbing. If it is on I will hope to be at the crag for 4.00 leaving Keswick about 3.20 if anyone wants to share a lift. If the rain does look probable the we will move the meet to Thursday evening.

The meet went well and the change of day was a good thing with the sun out to greet us. Six members turned up (and one went to the wrong Black Crag! at wrynose pass! she shall remain nameless) and three routes completed, (The Mortician, Troutdale Pinacle Direct and Troutdale Ridge) the midges started to bite and the ticks attacked Aileen, so four of us went to the pub for a drink. Present were Garaint, Jonathan C, Ed, Jane and myself.
