This has been a strange year for the Club. No sooner had we agreed a draft programme of meets and events, than we had to cancel everything. As soon as the regulations allowed it, we started running scramble meets again, and intend to keep doing this throughout the winter, weather and COVID guidance permitting.

We had always hoped to be able to start rock-climbing meets sometime during the summer, but the persistence of the virus means that it is difficult to run formal meets to comply with current guidance. Whilst it is fine for individuals to carry out their own risk assessments with regard to climbing, we did not feel we could do this on behalf of others.

We usually run a series of films and lectures during the winter and we are currently in communication with the Kirkgate Centre to see if these events can still go ahead. You will appreciate that there are all sorts of complications about shared venues, social distancing etc.
We will post information about events on the Club Facebook page and website. Please do use these to keep in touch with what is happening and with each other.

Normal service, with a full programme of meets, will be resumed as soon as possible In the meantime – Keep Active, Stay Safe.
