Meet Leaders' Website Crib-sheet

            1. A few days before your meet send out the initial email notification of the meet date and arrangements.  To do this:

a.       Select “Events” from the webpage main menu and then click on the appropriate event name in the “Event” column.

b.       This should open the location page for the event with, critically, a button at the bottom entitled “Send out meet information”. Click this button.

c.       This should open a dialog box into which you can type the information for your meet.  When you are happy with your text click “Submit” in the lower RH corner and the email will be sent to all KMC members.

d.       Importantly, do not navigate away from the mailer page in (1c) until the window shows that the information has been sent. This will take a few minutes.  If you do navigate away pre-emptively, all the emails will not be sent.

e.       You can copy and paste the information from the email to the “KMC Meet Info” group on WhatsApp – or vice versa.

2.       2. If you want to send out more information, repeat 1a-1b and a page will open showing your initial message.  At the bottom of this page there is a “Send out more meet information” button.  Pressing this will open a page that allows you to enter information for a further email.  As before (1d), press “Submit” to send, and make sure you allow the mailer to send all the mails before you navigate away from the mailer page.  Again, copy/pasting to/from WhattsApp is quite efficient.

3.      3.  After the meet, repeat 1a-1b and there will be a “Create meet report” button at the bottom of the page.  Enter your report and press “Submit”. Again, allow the page to do its work before navigating away.  As noted before, I find copy/pasting to/from the WhatsApp “KMC Meet Info” group is easiest and easiest when I use the WhatsApp web interface (https://web.whatsapp.com/).

I understand all this is a bit laborious, but this procedure does then keep an archive of the meets, useful for copying and pasting meet information, and a log of attendees and what went on, which is useful for the club.

Do ask if you have any questions.

Best
